The sourceRicinus communis, the castor bean or castor oil plant, is a species of perennial flowering plant in the spurge family, Euphorbiaceae. 

Castor oil is derived from castor beans by cold-pressed extraction.

Affects

Castor oil is a thick, viscous, rich and astringent oil. It is very soothing and nourishing, as well as being very affective at drawing impurities from the skin. Castor oil is often used for facial cleansing (combined with other carrier oils, typically 30% or less), for deep conditioning hair treatments, and for a naturopathic cleansing technique called ‘liver packing’.

Note

If the oil is too thick for use, place the bottle in hot water to gently warm the oil. Remove the internal dropper cap as the oil will not pass through this.

Some suggested directions for use: Warm gently before use Use direct on skin and hair

For a castor oil pack, warm oil & drizzle over a muslin cloth and apply to area. Leave for 30mins or more.Add a few drops to a cleanser or dab on facial blemishes to help draw out impurities. Precautions: Keep away from children and eyes. Discontinue use if any skin irritation occurs If oil gets into eyes splash out with water, seek medical advice if necessary.
